It allows a practitioner to monitor conscious blood pressure for hypertension, as well as listen to pulse while the patient is under anesthesia.
- Swab pulse site with alcohol or warm soapy water
- Fitted blood pressure cuff
- Apply ultrasound gel to pulse monitoring site
- Lightly place probe over pulse site
- Turn on CAT + Doppler and adjust to the preferred volume
- Continue to hold probe over pulse or tape in place while monitoring patient
